Our month of December will be busy and filled with fun and learning!
We will be reading the books, The Letters are Lost, Mrs. Wishy Washy's Christmas, and If You Take a Mouse to the Movies. With these books we will be learning about the setting and the characters in a story. In our handwriting books will be working on all the upper case letters that "pull down and slide right." This includes E, F, I, L, H, and T. Watch your child's folder for a homework booklet using these letters. We are also sending home copies of the wording we use when forming all the letters. Please use these words when practicing with your child! We will also be working on the letter Cc and the sound it makes, as well as reviewing all of our letters learned so far (A, B, C, F, H, L, P, T). We are also learning how to use our book bins and how to "read to self." In math we will be using pattern blocks and geoboards. We will continue to work on counting, 10 frames, and number sense. In 2nd Step we have been learning about our feelings. We have had some great and interesting conversations about times that we have felt sad, happy, scared, or surprised. This we will be talking about angry. |
