It was great to see everyone at conferences. It is such a great opportunity for us to meet and discuss your wonderful preschooler!
During the last few weeks we have been learning about fall and what happens in the fall. We read Apple Farmer Annie and made applesauce, weighed apples using balance scales, and journaled about apples. We read several books about fall and leaves and when on a hunt for fall items we could examine and investigate using magnifying glasses. We worked on lines that pulled down and slide right in our handwriting curriculum and practiced the sound of the letter Ll. We will working the letters Ff, Hh, and Pp next. We have talked about some vocabulary words, such as blossom, core, orchard, bare, acorn, and pinecone. We started our Second Step Curriculum and focused on meeting new friends. In the next two weeks we will continue learning about fall, pumpkins, and doing some Halloween activities. On Wednesday, October 30 the preschoolers can bring their costumes to school, and we will help them put them on after breakfast. We ask the costumes not be too scary and do not include weapons. We will play some Halloween themes and have a few prizes for everyone. On Friday, November 1, which is an early release day, we will have pajama day in the classroom. Children can wear (or bring) their pajamas to school. Please let me know through email, phone, or a visit if you have questions or concerns!
